Day 24 Ramadhan - Step 27

Day 24 #Ramadhan - Step 27 - Sufi Secrets & Gems of Ramadhan by ~Sajad Ali~

Suhoor Eating (the pre-dawn meal) Eat Suhoor, for there are blessings in it, Allah's Rahma-Mercy is over people eating Suhoor the Angels make dua of  forgiveness and send Mercy of people eating Suhoor. This is why even if a women is on her periods she should still get up and drink from the Rahma-Mercy and Maghfirah-forgiveness that is being poured down. An exclusive privilege of blessings  only given to Ummati Muhammadi salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. The Suhoor is distinctive of the Ummah of Muhammad salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. The distinction between our fasting and the fasting of the people of the book [Jews and Christians] is the taking of Suhoor". [Muslim]

The previous Ummah who had to fast (Jews and Christians) and still have to fast but most dont, their fasting was without Suhoor (the pre-dawn meal). They had to eat only once a day it was must rougher and harder for them, then Allah's Rahma-Mercy to given to us, But most don't realise the Rahma-Mercy of Allah given to this Ummah.

Eample; We get 70 to 700 deeds in this month whereas previous Ummah  if they did 1 good deed they get 1 good deed.

Indeed Allah placed blessing in the Suhoor and in the weighing [of grain] - Hadith
"Eat Suhoor, for there are blessings in it." - Hadith

"Blessing is in three: The Jama`a [the congregation of the Muslims], The Thareed [a broth of (crumbled) bread and meat] and the Suhoor"

"I entered upon the Prophet Allahu alaihi wa sallam and he was taking the Suhoor and he said: "It is a blessing which Allah has given to you, so do not leave it" Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Come to the blessed morning meal (meaning the Suhoor)"

"Perhaps the greatest blessing of Suhoor is that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta`ala covers the people eating Suhoor with His forgiveness and send His Mercy upon them. The angles ask for forgiveness for them and supplicate to Allah to pardon them, so that they may be granted freedom from the Fire by the Most Merciful in the month of the Qur'an

Abu Said al-Khudri said: The Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "The Suhoor is a meal of blessings, so do not leave it, even if one of you just takes a gulp of water, since Allah sends mercy and His angels seek forgiveness for those who take Suhoor". [Ahmad and Ibn Abi Shaibah]

These reports from the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) leave no room for the believer to miss Suhoor. Therefore let us take it upon us to never miss it.

The time for Suhoor: The time for Suhoor is between the middle of the night and dawn. It is considered best to delay it (that is, as close to dawn a possible).

The Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Hasten the breaking of the fast and delay the Suhoor".  Hadith

"We ate Suhoor with the Messenger of Allah and then we got up for the prayer. He was asked: 'What was the amount of time between the two?' He responded: '[The time it would take to recite] fifty ayat."' [al-Bukhari and Muslim].

"The companions of Muhammad (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam), would be the first to break the fast and the last to eat their Suhoor."

The Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "We, the Prophets, have been ordered to hasten breaking the fast, delay the Suhoor, and to put our right hand on the left one in prayer". hadith.

Day 23 Ramadhan - Step 26

Day 23 #Ramadhan - Step 26 -
Sufi Secrets & Gems by ~Sajad Ali~

5 Gifts this Ummah given in Ramadhan that No other prophet has been given.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “My Ummah has been given in Ramadhan five things that no prophet before me was given. The first is that on the first night of the month of Ramadan Allah gazes upon them and if Allah gazes upon someone, He will never punish them. The second is the smell emanating from their mouths in the latter part of the day is sweeter in Allah’s sight than the scent of musk. The third is that the angels seek forgiveness for them every day and night. The fourth is that Allah says to Paradise: ‘Prepare yourself and beautify yourself for My slaves for they will soon find rest in My Abode in the place of My generosity after the hardship of this life. The fifth is that they will all be forgiven on the last night.”

Someone asked: “Is that Laylat al-Qadr? He replied: “No, look at workers: when they finish their work they are given their wages in full.  This a is reference to the last night of Ramadhan is called 'Layla tul Ja'iza (night of prize giving).'

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah made fasting Ramadhan compulsory and made the night prayer recommended. Whoever fasts in it and prays in the night in a state of belief; seeking Allah’s reward, will be free of sins like the day on which his mother gave birth to him.”

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us that in this month gates of the heavens are opened, meaning that it is easy for our actions, our prayers and our repentance to find acceptance with Allah. It has also been narrated that when Ramadhan enters, Allah orders the angels who carry His throne to stop praising Him and to seek forgiveness for the Ummah of Muhammad.

Day 22 Ramadhan - Step 25

Day 22 #Ramadhan - Step 25 -  Sufi Secrets & Gems by ~Sajad Ali~
***Istaghfaar*** Taqwa-(fear of Allah, to guard from sins) is increased through Tawba-Repentance and Tawba-Repentance is increased by making the tongue very moist with dhikr of (istaghfaar)- saying "Astaghfiruallah" and Istaghfaar reduces sins and increases Rizq and opens the doors for a way out from difficulties, anxieties until only tranquillity and happiness and descends into the heart and soul.

“And whoever fears Allah, for him Allah brings forth a way out, and gives him provision (rizq) from where he does not even imagine…” (65: 2-3)

**Rizq is a deep word that means more the provision**
Rizq is everything to do with spending on your 2 'aql-(knowledge) brain and heart and 2 nafs-(egos) stomach and private parts, thus all 'ilm-knowledge is Rizq, your spouse (husband or wife) your children and family your job your home or properties is all Rizq the food you eat from home, buy are invited to eat are your Rizq.

And finally its what of all that you actually consume-(use) that is (your rizq) not what isn't used (example a home with 8 rooms which only 3 are used but the other 5 are guest rooms, so 3 are your Rizq) so if you don't consume it with your brain or heart for 'ilm food or private parts for ego house or objects for your body its not part of your Rizq or Qadr even so its in your obsession.

The best of you are repents even if your break your promise 1000 times always turn back to Allah.

A lady who had to provide for her children and asked the shaykh "Ya shaykh i'm so poor i cannot feed my children properly, what should i do?"

The shaykh responded by saying - Do istighfar, in all of your affairs, all the time, working or resting, sitting or standing. So the lady did istighfar (saying Astaghfirullah, or Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilaih) to the extent it reached 1000s of times a day... the lady comes back literally some time after and told the shaykh she took his advice, and Allah blessed her with wealth from a place she never imagined.

***A story about Istighfar***
This story about “Istighfar” is from the life of Imam Ahmed Bin Hanbal, who is considered as a renowned scholar of Islam and a famous theologian. During his old age, while Imam Ahmed was travelling he stopped by a town. After the prayers, he wanted to stay for the night in the masjid yard because he didn’t know anyone in the town.

Owing to his humility, he hadn’t introduced himself to anyone thinking that if he did, he would be welcomed by many people.

Failing to recognize Ahmed bin Hanbal, the caretaker of the mosque refused to let him stay in the mosque. As Imam Ahmed was quite old, the caretaker had to drag him out of the mosque.

On seeing this, a baker from a nearby place felt pity for this man (Imam Ahmed) and offered to be the host to him for the night. During his stay with the baker,

Imam Ahmed observed that the baker would constantly recite Istighfar (seeking forgiveness from Allah). Imam Ahmed asked the baker if the constant practice of saying Istighfar had any effect on him.

The baker responded by telling Imam Ahmed that Allah had accepted all of his duas (supplications), except one. When he asked him what dua was it that hadn’t been accepted, the baker replied that he had been asking Allah to provide him the privilege to meet the famous scholar Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal.

On this, Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal said that Allah had not only listened to his dua but had dragged him onto his (the baker’s) doorsteps.

Day 21 Ramadhan - Step 24

Day 21 #Ramadhan - Step 24  - Sufi Secrets & Gems of Ramadhan.
I have been posting my Sufi Ramadhan Secrets and Gems, about the (Day) in Ramadan (not) the night, In Islam the Tonight comes 1st and starts at Maghrib Tonight the day then follows, thus last tonight marks the 21st of Ramadhan, one of the odd nights in the Last Ashara on which Laytatul Qadr may fall. However it also marks a more heartbreaking event. The martyrdom of our Maula, The father of the Princes of Heaven, The Commander of the Faithful, The Father of Tasawwuf, The Lion of Allah, Shah-e-Mardan; Sayyiduna Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (Alaihi salaam). At the hour of standing before Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), during a prayer of submission, in the best of days, while fasting during the month of Ramadhan while performing the most glorious Islamic duties, while preparing to wage jihad, and in the highest and most pure divine places, the Mosque of Kufa.

We will never be on the level of even the dirt on the sandals of Sayyiduna Ali (Alaihi salaam), but the least we can do In sha Allah is to send the rewards of our supererogatory prayers, our obligatory prayers, our salawat, even our good deeds to him.. A martyr never dies so take hold of this opportunity of the 3rd Ashara and 21st Ramadhan to send as much sawaab to him as possible and make du’a that on the Day of Judgement you will be with him, the Prophet (salAllahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) and all the righteous, In Sha Allah.

Let us understand this individual (Alaihi Salaam) of truth, not only in terms of leadership, khilafa, Islamic jurisprudence as most of our books like to talk about; but look at him through the prism of Taqwa and True knowledge that he was blessed with.

“The Messenger of Allah (salAllahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) saw Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib (karamAllahu ta’ala wajhu wa alayhi salaam) and Ammar Yasir stretched out and asleep on the soft ground and woke them up.

He (salAllahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) then touched Sayyiduna Ali (karamAllahu ta’ala wajhu) with his blessed hands and said: “Awake, O Abu Turab! (Father of the Soil) Would you like me to tell you of the most wretched of men?“ He (salAllahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) then said; “There are two of them.

One is Uhmir Samud, who slew the camel (of Salih). The other is,” pointing to Sayyiduna Ali’s (alayhi salaam) blessed head, “The person who strikes here with his sword, smearing your beard with blood.”

Sayyidina ‘Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) was the fourth Khalifah of Islam. Some of the titles given to Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) were Al-Murtada (the one contented with the Decree of Allah), Asadullah (the Lion of Allah) and Abu Turab (Father of sand) because once he slept on bare sand. He was also known as Abul Hasan which means the father of Imam Hasan (Rady Allahu Anhu). Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) was thirty years younger than the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam). He was the cousin of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam). His father's name was Hadrat Abu Talib and his mother's name was Sayyidatina Fatimah bint Asad (Rady Allahu Anha).

Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) was the first from among the children to accept Islam. He was only eleven years old when he accepted Islam. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) loved Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) and Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) also loved Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam). He later went on to marry Sayyidatina Fatimah (Rady Allahu Anha), the blessed daughter of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam).

They had two sons and their names are Imam Hasan (Rady Allahu Anhu) and Imam Husain (Rady Allahu Anhu). Together, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam), Sayyidina Ali, Sayyidatina Fatimah, Imam Hasan, and Imam Husain (Rady Allahu Anhum) are known as Ahl al-Bayt which means the People of the Household of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam). We Muslims must love the Family of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) more than our own families.

Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) was very brave and strong. This is why he is known as Asadullah which means the Lion of Allah. His love for Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) was indeed very great. In the wars against the disbelievers, Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) fought very bravely. There was one incident when Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) went to Madinah al-Munawwarah because he had received news that his enemies were going to come to his house and try to kill him.

Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) was so brave that he got into the bed of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam). Before leaving, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) had told Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) to meet him in Madinah al-Munawwarah. When the enemies picked up the blanket, they saw Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu). They were very angry to see that it was not Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) and they left.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) had left everyone's belongings with Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) to be distributed to their rightful owners. When he gave everyone's things back, they asked him if he was scared while he slept in the bed of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam). He replied that he was not scared because Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) had told him to meet him in Madinah al-Munawwarah. So he knew nothing would happen to him. This shows us how brave Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) was, and how much he loved and trusted Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam).

Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) was also a very knowledgeable person. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) had once said, “I am the city of knowledge, and Ali is its gate.” This is why Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) was also given the title of Bab ul-'Ilm which means “The Gate of Knowledge”. This was only one title among many that were given to Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu).

Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) lived a very simple life and he was a great person. His braveness was clearly visible and his love for Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala) and for His Rasul (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) was unquestionable. He was martyred at Kufa in Iraq on Monday, the 21st of Ramadan 40 A.H. at the age of 63. He was laid to rest in Najaf, near Kufa. We have learned a great deal from Sayyidina Ali’s (Rady Allahu Anhu) dedication to Islam. May Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala) grant more people from this Ummah to follow the footsteps of Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu). Amin.

Day 20 Ramadhan - Step 23

Step 23 – Sufi Ramadhan Secrets and Gems by ~Sajad Ali~

****When is Laylatul Qadr (Night of Power) **Disclaimer ***
Laylatul Qadr is not always in Ramadan it moves around the year***

In general, it is agreed that it is most likely to be in the last ten nights of Ramadan, with the odd nights being more likely. Of the odd nights, the night of the 27th (which is the night before the 27th of Ramadan, for the Islamic day starts with nightfall) is most likely. Imam Shafi`i said that it is most likely to be the 21st, then the 23rd, then the 27th. Imam Nawawi followed the position of Imam Muzani and Imam Ibn Khuzayma that it moves around within the last ten nights. [Nawawi, al-Majmu` Sharh al-Muhadhdhab, 6.488]

However, it could be outside the last ten nights within Ramadan. It may even be outside Ramadan according to both early and late scholars. This has been transmitted from many of the Companions of the Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace), including Ibn Mas`ud (Allah be pleased with him). It is one of the reported positions of Imam Abu Hanifa, and also of many of the great knowers of Allah, including Ibn Arabi (whose position is quoted by Ibn Abidin with support), Abu’l Hasan al-Shadhili, Sha`rani, and many others.

It has been reported that, “Once the last ten [days of Ramadan] started, the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) used to spend the nights in worship, wake his family, strive, and tighten his belt.” [Bukhari and Muslim] Tighten his belt refers to determination.

Imam al-Nafrawi al-Maliki mentions in his al-Fawakih al-Dawani fi Sharh Risalat Ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani that the position of Imam Malik, Imam Shafi`i and Imam Ahmad, and the majority of the scholars is that Laylat al-Qadr is not a specific night. Rather, it moves around.

Imam Sarakhsi mentions in his Mabsut, a 30-volume masterpiece of Hanafi legal reasoning, proofs, and comparative fiqh that was mainly authored by dictation to students while unjustly imprisoned in a pot well, that the position of most of the Companions (Allah be pleased with him) was that it is on the night of the 27th. (3.127) This understood, others explain, to mean that its most likely night is the night of the 27th of Ramadan. [As in Ruhaybani’s Matalib Uli’n Nuha Sharh Ghayat al-Muntaha 2.225 in Hanbali fiqh]

"Most of the scholars, from the Salaf and the Khalaf agree that Laylat-ul-Qadr can occur on any night of the year, even outside the month of Ramadhan. However, the conclusion of the erudite scholars is that the exact night changes every year. Most years it is in Ramadan while on rarer occasions it occurs outside of Ramadan.

In the years that it is in Ramadan, most of the time it occurs in its last ten days, On less frequent occasions, it occurs in the middle ten days (11-20). In the years that it occurs in the middle ten days, it occurs more often on the 17th or 19th.

In the years that it occurs in the last ten days, it occurs more often in the odd nights (rather than the even nights). In the years that it occurs in the odd nights, it is more frequent that it occurs on the 27th of Ramadhan."

This has been transmitted from many of the Companions of the Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace), including 'Abdullah Ibn Mas`ud (Allah be pleased with him). It is one of the reported positions of Imam Abu Hanifa, and also the opinion of Imam Malik, ash-Shafi'i, Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Ibn Arabi (whose position is quoted by Ibn Abidin with support), Abu’l Hasan al-Shadhili, Sha`rani, and many other knowers of Allah.

Abu Hanifa said that it is not a fixed day but, rather, it moves around in the month. [Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar, from al-Bahr and al-Kafi] As for the hadiths about it being the night of the 27th, Ibn Abidin mentions that Abu Hanifa explained them as meaning a particular year.

Ibn Abidin quotes Ibn Nujaym’s Bahr al-Ra’iq that this is one transmitted position of Abu Hanifa. Another, mentioned in Qadikhan’s Fatawa al-Khaniyya, one of the most important works for fatwa in the school, is that the famous transmission from Imam Abu Hanifa is that it moves around the entire year; it could be in Ramadan, and it could be in another month. Ibn Abidin said,

“This is supported by what the Master of the Knowers of Allah Sayyidi Muhyi al-Din Ibn Arabi mentioned in his Futuhat al-Makkiyya, ‘People differed about Laylat al-Qadr. Some said it moves around the entire year. This is my position, for I have seen it in the month of Sha`ban, and in Rabi`, and in Ramadan. I have seen it most, though, in the month of Ramadan, and, specifically, in the last nights. I saw it once in the second third of Ramadan, on an even night, and once on an odd night. Therefore, I am certain that it moves around the entire year, on both odd and even nights.’

May Allah swta give us the success of following in the footsteps of the inheritors of the Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace), outwardly and inwardly, and may He make us of those whom He loves.

As you can see no one knows exactly when the Laylatul Qadr is. Most of us practice extra ibaadat on the 27th and there is evidence to suggest that this might be the night. But no one is 100%.

**This is one of the many reasons why one should strive to establish the night vigil prayer (tahajjud), daily or at least two rakah Tawbah every Night***

Day 19 Ramadhan - Step 22

Step 22 – Sufi Ramadhan Secrets and Gems by ~Sajad Ali~

This Formula based on Imam Jafar Sadiq on finding Laylatul Qadr Night:
Arif-Billah Khwaja Abul Hasan Kharkani (rahmatullah alahay) mentioned that he did not missed the Night of Power (Laylatul Qadr) since his adolescence age based on the instruction/ quotations of Imam Jafar Sadiq (rahmatullahi alaihi).

According to him, the night of Power will be on the following: If first day of Ramadan starts on Monday, the night of Power will be on 21st Ramadan, I've summarised the rest below;

Monday = 21st night
Tuesday = 27th night
Wednesday = 29th night
Thursday = 25th Night
Friday = 27th Night
Saturday = 23rd Night
Sunday = 29th night

Yet an another Formula based on Shaykh Muhyiddin Ibn al-‘Arabi on finding Laylatul Qadr Night:

Shaykh Muhyiddin Ibn al-‘Arabi (al-Hatimi) outlined a method of catching this night, the conclusion of which is, if the first day of Ramadan is a Friday, then (most likely) Laylat ul-Qadr will fall on the night of the 29th and if the first day of Ramadan is a Thursday, then (most likely) it will fall on one of the tenth nights (20th or 30th) I've summarised the rest below;

Monday = 19th night
Tuesday = 25th night
Wednesday = 17th night
Thursday = 20/30th Night
Friday = 29th Night
Saturday = 21st Night
Sunday = 27th night

Shaykh Ahmadou Bamba (founder of Muridiyya Tariqah) says Laylatul Qadr is dependent on the start of Ramadan, so if the 1st night of Ramadan is Sunday then Layatul Qadr is 27th night, see below for days;

*based on this 1st night of Ramadan was Thursday so tonight 23rd Night is Laylatul Qadr*

Monday = 19th night
Tuesday = 25 night
Wednesday = 17th night
Thursday = 23rd Night
Friday = 29th Night
Saturday = 21st Night
Sunday = 27th night

Day 18 Ramadhan - Step 21

Step 21 – Sufi Ramadhan Secrets and Gems by ~Sajad Ali~

The Signs of Laylatul-Qadr which nights to look for it, Laylatul-Qadr is Better than a thousand months;
1-Peaceful, tranquil quiet night. You do not hear the barking of dogs, donkey's don't bray, or the sound of the cockerel.  "Salamun hiya hatta matla il-fajr"-That Night is peace, until the rising of the dawn. (Surah Qadr 97:5) The entire Night, from evening till morning, is peace, free from every evil and mischief.

2-Rain may fall either during the night or during the day of that night.- there is rain.This is one of the signs of Laylatul Qadr. – Soft or gentle rain.

3-During night the sky will be lightly foggy - there are very few clouds in the sky and very little wind.

4-The angels and Sayyiduna Jib'ril all descend down onto earth for many blessings and people experience a pleasant breeze or a pleasant wind which they enjoy which they like.

5-The sun rises early in the morning without rays and The sky will be slightly lighted without reflections and without rays. – meaning the disc of the sun is seen without strong rays or is without any rays. The disc is a clear disc when it rises in the morning. The sun at sunrise would appear reddish and without its normal blazing and sharp rays. Whosoever offers voluntary prayers during the Night of Power out of belief and expecting from Allah its reward will have his past sins forgiven." (Bukhari and Muslim)

Laylatul-Qadr is Better than a thousand months; "Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not to show off) then ALL his past sins will be forgiven" -Sahih Bukhari. The same reward is for those who fast sincerely too.

"Laylatul-Qadr is calm and pleasant, neither hot nor cold and clear with no clouds in the sky ; the sun arises on its morning being feeble and red (without rays) It is a night in which no barking of dogs or braying of Donkeys can be heard and When the sun rises on the following morning of the Night of Power, it appears as a disc without rays, rather like a copper bowl. Rain may fall either during the night or during the day of that night. During night the sky will be lightly foggy. There is no shooting star until morning. Its sign is that the sun appears on the morning following it smooth having no rays on it, just like the moon on a full-moon night.

 If you hear the barking of a dog or the braying of a donkey at night, seek refuge in Allah from Satan the devil, because they see what you do no see" and "When you hear a rooster crowing, then ask Allah for His Bounties, for it has seen an angel. As such, given the abundance of angels on Laylatul Qadr, it is likely that you would not hear very many dogs barking and donkeys braying, but may notice roosters crowing a lot more. However, remember that this is not some sort of fool proof major sign.

Why did the Sun look weak on Night of Qadr.?
The sun rises early in the morning without rays and The sky will be slightly lighted without reflections and without rays. – meaning the disc of the sun is seen without strong rays or is without any rays. The disc is a clear disc when it rises in the morning. The sun at sunrise would appear reddish and without its normal blazing and sharp rays.

"Angels stay on the earth until the breaking of dawn. When the sun appears in the sky Sayyiduna Jib'ril is the first angel ascending to sky and, (He) opens His two wings which are green. He doesn’t open them in any time else. Thus the rays of the sun can not be seen. Then he calls an angel and lifts him up. The lights of angels and the lights of the two wings of Sayyiduna Jib'ril join (together). That day, the sun is constantly unstable." (Ibn Kathir)

****By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, the Night of Qadr is so heavy on the disbeliever and hypocrite that it feels like a mountain on his back.”***

*Last 10 odd nights or Last 7 nights..?*

As far finding the Night of Power (Layatul Qadr) , it has been reported to be during one of the odd numbered nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, i.e. 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th. and has been emphasized that it is most likely to be the 27th night.

Some people were shown the Night of qadr as being in the last seven days (of the month of Ramadan). The Prophet peace be upon him said, "Seek it in the last seven days (of Ramadan)" Hadith

Some men amongst the companions of the Prophet were shown in their dreams that the night of qadr was in the last seven nights of Ramadan Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said, "It seems that all your dreams agree that (the Night of Qadr) is in the last seven nights, and whoever wants to search for it (i.e. the Night of qadr) should search in the last seven (nights of Ramadan)." Hadith

The Night of Qadr is in the last ten nights of the month (Ramadan), either on the first nine or in the last (remaining) seven nights (of Ramadan)." Ibn 'Abbas added, "Search for it on the 24th (of Ramadan)."

*Don't be a fools and deprive yourself from blessings*
Anyone who seeks the Night of Power and lives it, all there sin will be erased. I am sure everyone of us would like to live a life free of sins an free of mistakes. Everyone would like to meet Allah on the Day of Judgment without "The person who deprives himself from the blessings of Layatul qadr, indeed has deprived himself of all good and none other than an ignorant person is derived from such good." Hadith

*But those deprive themselves of Laylatul Qadr without realising due to (Ghill)*
One of the qualities that would prevent us from this blessed gaze of Allah (and from many other opportunities for forgiveness) is (Ghill). The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, taught us of the Night of Power and the 15th Sha’ban that those who have "Ghill-resentment, bitterness, malice, holding grudges, hate, ill-will, rancour against another person", mistreat parents, severe bonds of kinship or indulge with drink alcohol and Zina are prevented from Allah’s merciful gaze on Laylatul Qadr and 15th Sha’ban. (i will talk more about this in another Ramadan Gem insh'allah)

*The Night and what is holds**
Allah will command Sayyiduna Jib'ril to be accompanied by 70'000 angels from Sidratul Muntaha. They will carry with them banners of light. Jibr'il will set up his flag (liwa) and the Angels will set up their flags at 4 places;

1st Next to the Kaaba in Mecca,
2nd Next to the tomb of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him, his family and his companions)
3rd. Next to the mosque of Jerusalem (Bait al -Maqdis)
4th Next to the Mosque of Sinai (Mount Sina)

**Shaking the Hand of Sayyiduna Jib'ril**
Angels will visit every place in this world making dua for the inhabitants of this world and Sayyiduna Jib'ril (Peace be upon him, his family and his companions) will meet every believer greeting him with peace and shaking his hand.

Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani says that the recipients of this blessing will feel a sudden appearance of goose bumps all over the skin. (Ishqi Raar jildi hi) coinciding with a tender feeling in the heart and a tearful moistening of the eyes.

"Angels stay on the earth until the breaking of dawn. When the sun appears in the sky Sayyiduna Jib'ril is the first angel ascending to sky and, (He) opens His two wings which are green. He doesn’t open them in any time else. Thus the rays of the sun cannot be seen. Then he calls an angel and lifts him up. The lights of angels and the lights of the two wings of Sayyiduna Jib'ril join (together). That day, the sun is constantly unstable." (Ibn Kathir)
