Day 18 Ramadhan - Step 21

Step 21 – Sufi Ramadhan Secrets and Gems by ~Sajad Ali~

The Signs of Laylatul-Qadr which nights to look for it, Laylatul-Qadr is Better than a thousand months;
1-Peaceful, tranquil quiet night. You do not hear the barking of dogs, donkey's don't bray, or the sound of the cockerel.  "Salamun hiya hatta matla il-fajr"-That Night is peace, until the rising of the dawn. (Surah Qadr 97:5) The entire Night, from evening till morning, is peace, free from every evil and mischief.

2-Rain may fall either during the night or during the day of that night.- there is rain.This is one of the signs of Laylatul Qadr. – Soft or gentle rain.

3-During night the sky will be lightly foggy - there are very few clouds in the sky and very little wind.

4-The angels and Sayyiduna Jib'ril all descend down onto earth for many blessings and people experience a pleasant breeze or a pleasant wind which they enjoy which they like.

5-The sun rises early in the morning without rays and The sky will be slightly lighted without reflections and without rays. – meaning the disc of the sun is seen without strong rays or is without any rays. The disc is a clear disc when it rises in the morning. The sun at sunrise would appear reddish and without its normal blazing and sharp rays. Whosoever offers voluntary prayers during the Night of Power out of belief and expecting from Allah its reward will have his past sins forgiven." (Bukhari and Muslim)

Laylatul-Qadr is Better than a thousand months; "Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not to show off) then ALL his past sins will be forgiven" -Sahih Bukhari. The same reward is for those who fast sincerely too.

"Laylatul-Qadr is calm and pleasant, neither hot nor cold and clear with no clouds in the sky ; the sun arises on its morning being feeble and red (without rays) It is a night in which no barking of dogs or braying of Donkeys can be heard and When the sun rises on the following morning of the Night of Power, it appears as a disc without rays, rather like a copper bowl. Rain may fall either during the night or during the day of that night. During night the sky will be lightly foggy. There is no shooting star until morning. Its sign is that the sun appears on the morning following it smooth having no rays on it, just like the moon on a full-moon night.

 If you hear the barking of a dog or the braying of a donkey at night, seek refuge in Allah from Satan the devil, because they see what you do no see" and "When you hear a rooster crowing, then ask Allah for His Bounties, for it has seen an angel. As such, given the abundance of angels on Laylatul Qadr, it is likely that you would not hear very many dogs barking and donkeys braying, but may notice roosters crowing a lot more. However, remember that this is not some sort of fool proof major sign.

Why did the Sun look weak on Night of Qadr.?
The sun rises early in the morning without rays and The sky will be slightly lighted without reflections and without rays. – meaning the disc of the sun is seen without strong rays or is without any rays. The disc is a clear disc when it rises in the morning. The sun at sunrise would appear reddish and without its normal blazing and sharp rays.

"Angels stay on the earth until the breaking of dawn. When the sun appears in the sky Sayyiduna Jib'ril is the first angel ascending to sky and, (He) opens His two wings which are green. He doesn’t open them in any time else. Thus the rays of the sun can not be seen. Then he calls an angel and lifts him up. The lights of angels and the lights of the two wings of Sayyiduna Jib'ril join (together). That day, the sun is constantly unstable." (Ibn Kathir)

****By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, the Night of Qadr is so heavy on the disbeliever and hypocrite that it feels like a mountain on his back.”***

*Last 10 odd nights or Last 7 nights..?*

As far finding the Night of Power (Layatul Qadr) , it has been reported to be during one of the odd numbered nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, i.e. 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th. and has been emphasized that it is most likely to be the 27th night.

Some people were shown the Night of qadr as being in the last seven days (of the month of Ramadan). The Prophet peace be upon him said, "Seek it in the last seven days (of Ramadan)" Hadith

Some men amongst the companions of the Prophet were shown in their dreams that the night of qadr was in the last seven nights of Ramadan Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said, "It seems that all your dreams agree that (the Night of Qadr) is in the last seven nights, and whoever wants to search for it (i.e. the Night of qadr) should search in the last seven (nights of Ramadan)." Hadith

The Night of Qadr is in the last ten nights of the month (Ramadan), either on the first nine or in the last (remaining) seven nights (of Ramadan)." Ibn 'Abbas added, "Search for it on the 24th (of Ramadan)."

*Don't be a fools and deprive yourself from blessings*
Anyone who seeks the Night of Power and lives it, all there sin will be erased. I am sure everyone of us would like to live a life free of sins an free of mistakes. Everyone would like to meet Allah on the Day of Judgment without "The person who deprives himself from the blessings of Layatul qadr, indeed has deprived himself of all good and none other than an ignorant person is derived from such good." Hadith

*But those deprive themselves of Laylatul Qadr without realising due to (Ghill)*
One of the qualities that would prevent us from this blessed gaze of Allah (and from many other opportunities for forgiveness) is (Ghill). The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, taught us of the Night of Power and the 15th Sha’ban that those who have "Ghill-resentment, bitterness, malice, holding grudges, hate, ill-will, rancour against another person", mistreat parents, severe bonds of kinship or indulge with drink alcohol and Zina are prevented from Allah’s merciful gaze on Laylatul Qadr and 15th Sha’ban. (i will talk more about this in another Ramadan Gem insh'allah)

*The Night and what is holds**
Allah will command Sayyiduna Jib'ril to be accompanied by 70'000 angels from Sidratul Muntaha. They will carry with them banners of light. Jibr'il will set up his flag (liwa) and the Angels will set up their flags at 4 places;

1st Next to the Kaaba in Mecca,
2nd Next to the tomb of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him, his family and his companions)
3rd. Next to the mosque of Jerusalem (Bait al -Maqdis)
4th Next to the Mosque of Sinai (Mount Sina)

**Shaking the Hand of Sayyiduna Jib'ril**
Angels will visit every place in this world making dua for the inhabitants of this world and Sayyiduna Jib'ril (Peace be upon him, his family and his companions) will meet every believer greeting him with peace and shaking his hand.

Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani says that the recipients of this blessing will feel a sudden appearance of goose bumps all over the skin. (Ishqi Raar jildi hi) coinciding with a tender feeling in the heart and a tearful moistening of the eyes.

"Angels stay on the earth until the breaking of dawn. When the sun appears in the sky Sayyiduna Jib'ril is the first angel ascending to sky and, (He) opens His two wings which are green. He doesn’t open them in any time else. Thus the rays of the sun cannot be seen. Then he calls an angel and lifts him up. The lights of angels and the lights of the two wings of Sayyiduna Jib'ril join (together). That day, the sun is constantly unstable." (Ibn Kathir)

***“By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, the Night of Qadr is so heavy on the disbeliever and hypocrite that it feels like a mountain on his back.”***

***Keep reciting this alot at Night***
Allaahumma innaka `Afuw-wun, tu-hibbul `afwa, faa-'fu `anni - O Allah you are Forgiving and You love forgiveness so forgiven me)
